So here it is, a week after the release of Diablo III. Mine you that many people cannot stand games that require you to log into a server in order to play the game. I personally do not care as much. The game is amazing. It’s really fun and it’s better when you have friends to play with. Then it’s harder but more enjoyable.

There are 4 levels to the game:

  1. Normal
  2. Nightmare
  3. Hell
  4. Inferno

Your character must hit a certain level in order to go to the next difficulty as well as beating the game on the current difficulty level.

Personally I have a level 40 Demon Hunter and have some issues soloing Nightmare. You cannot get into Nightmare until you hit at lease lvl 25 and beat the normal difficulty. As for normal difficulty, it’s a breeze for my character now. There is no character customization for you to change the way your character looks. Just like all other Diablo’s. However, you can choose male or female.

Now for the armor. As you level there are millions of choices as you go through the ranks of the dungeons. You have a huge select that you can choose from. Here is a possible selection of armor piece that you may choose:

The Inquisitor

  • Torso
  • Demon Hunter Only
  • Legendary Cloak
  • 360–414 Armor
  • +11-20 Resistance to All Elements
  • +6-7% Movement Speed
  • One of 2 Magic Properties (varies)
  • Regenerates 161-234 Life per Second
  • Regenerates 281-410 Life per Second
  • One of 2 Magic Properties (varies)
    • +150-169 Dexterity
    • +84-89 Dexterity
  • One of 6 Magic Properties (varies)
    • Reduces resource cost of Chakram by 1-5 Hatred.
    • Reduces resource cost of Impale by 1-5 Hatred.
    • Increases Spike Trap Damage by 5-12%
    • Increases Critical Hit Chance of Strafe by 2-7%
    • Increases Grenades Damage by 5-12%
    • Increases Evasive Fire Damage by 5-12%
  • +1 Random Magic Property
  • Link to this item: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/item/the-inquisitor

As you can see just one piece of armor can be many things. And each Rare, Legendary, set piece has their own name depending on the stats that is on the piece.

Weapons are the same as armor when it comes to naming and stats. It’s all level base and you get these items from funning dungeon or from vendors.

What about crafting?

There are only 2 abilities that you can craft. Blacksmithing and Jewel Crafting. Well, they are not skills, there are vendors that craft these items for you. You level these NPCs up with different means and doing so allows you to get better gear / gems. Which you can in turn sell on the AH or use on your character. Now once, you get further up into the levels of your blacksmithing and jew crafting, you will need more items to allow you to upgrade them.

The “Cow” level…  There is no cow level. There is however, a level of rainbow sparkly happiness. You will have to get 5 items and then have the blacksmith to craft it. Then you can visit this most cheerful area. I will not spoil it for you. If you would like it spoiled then just YouTube it and you will see the area.

There is so much more and the story is amazing. Many twists and it leaves you asking for more.

Yes I do recommend it for everyone that is in the mature age range. It’s a lot of fun.

Customer: Excuse me which system is better?
Retailer: Well, I play the PS3 and I think it’s the best.
Customer: ok, thanks I would like to buy one then.

This is a fake dialog but it happens more then you would think. Everyone is bias with what system is “better” I am personally a Xbox 360 fan. I tried to play on a PS3 and soon sold it to a co-worker. Am I bias toward 360, heck yeah I am and I am proud to be. We all how our choice in which system we prefer.

Now, parent, do not trust the salesman with which system to get your child. I am not saying to flat out ask your child which they prefer but you can watch their reactions when commercials for any of the systems are on. Also, listen to what games they are talking about because some are system specific. in other words you do not want them talking about a game that they want and it’s only available for the Nintendo WII, like Mario.

My advise for the buyer, do research on the system that you want and make a sound decision before you buy. Do not trust the salesman for this.

So you are developer? That’s nice. There are many people out there that know the code but they are not designers. I look at hundreds of sites every week and just tear up that people are wasting their hard earned money on the crap that these people are producing.

Now, do not get it twisted, I am not the best out there either but I have produced enough sites to know what is crap and want is awesome! I have gone to college and about to receive my Grahic Design degree on March 23rd. So I can honestly say that I am a designer. I know HTML, CSS, & PHP so I can say I am a developer.

To be perfectly honest, if I start showing people these sites that I see on a weekly basis I will hurt some people’s feelings but I think I may do that and add a catagory for those kinds of site. I will also show some good sites so that I am being all negative. I do stumble across many awesome sites to and when I navigate through them I am amazed that someone or a group of people did that and I try to figure out exactly how they did that.

More about this subject yet to come.

As I surf through the web I have noticed that many people are claiming they are web designers. Now, some are very good at what they do and I am very impressed with their Photoshop skills. Now, Photoshop is a great tool that can allow you to create many good sites but it’s only good if you need no interactivity that many sites need. A good example is contact forms. Photoshop cannot do this so you need someone that can do that.

Now the sites that are just wrong. I will not list any here but they are EVERYWHERE. I just cry a little when I run across these sites. People pay good money for crap. That is what the site is, it’s crap. I would use other words but I have a filter on my blog so… Yeah they would be filtered. So what does this mean to the real designers and developers out there. We cannot compete with that because when we do sites that are professionally done, no one wants to pay our price. They want to pay the low unprofessional fee that these non-designers are charging and gaining the clients and only screwing them over in the end.

ADVICE!

Oh Noes! What do I do when I am approached by a budget web designer?

Think about these DO’s.

  1. DO: Look at their past sites.
  2. DO: Find out how long they been doing this.
  3. DO: Get a quote from a few others.
  4. DO: Expect to pay a little more for a quality site.

Think about these DO NOT’s:

  1. DO NOT: Do your site yourself unless you know what you are doing.
  2. DO NOT: Use a template. How many other people have used it?
  3. DO NOT: Jump on the train when it seems lower then you thought the site would cost.
  4. DO NOT: Expect to get an amazing professional website cheap.

So when you are thinking about getting a PROFESSIONAL website for your PROFESSIONAL business created. Then choose someone that has that mind set and not someone that is looking for a quick buck and then screwing you over in the long run. Think about this analogy. Would you wear blue jeans and a tank top to a professional business meeting? No you would not, so why would you have a website that looks the same?

Think before you sign.

Now, all of that brings me to this. Here is a little about me.

  1. I have been developing personalized websites since 1999.
  2. I do NOT use templates.
  3. I will host your site for you.
  4. I will maintain your site for you when you need changes.
  5. I have a design degree.
  6. I know some programing languages so there is no outsourcing which can cost.
  7. I will make sure you are 100% happy with your site.

Help! That is exactly what I am here for. If you need anything for your site, I am here to make sure you get the most professional website that you need to take your business to the next level.

I look back in the last year of my life and I see things that I am proud of and something that I am not. The main thing that I am very proud of is my ability to almost complete my degree at ITT-Tech. It’s been a very long and hard road but I am glad to say that I worked my butt off for this.

Some people say that they had it easy here, however, if you ask them now. They cannot find or keep a job because they did not put into the education what they wanted to get out of it. So they are in the loss that one. I put many countless hours into my projects as a whole and I am seriously thinking that it’s paying off already for me.

My degree is in Visual Communications. If you do not know what that means, it means to communicate visually through the use of art. The billboards that you look at, the graphics that are around vehicles, even the junk mail that you get in the mail were all designed by someone with my degree or like degree.

There are many colleges out there that offer this kind of degree. If you are looking into doing something along that lines you seriously need to ask yourself a few things.

  1. Are you artistically inclined?
  2. Can I manage projects with deadlines?
  3. Am I a people person?
  4. Are you able to say/sketch your ideas clearly?

If you say no to any of these then you may not fit into this world. However, if you say no to all then you really need to look at something else. Anyone can use the software and make an alright looking flyer. Everyone can use word and that’s a HUGE mistake in the design world. DO NOT USE WORD, POWERPOINT, or any Microsoft product if you want to be a designer.

Adobe is the BEST package that you can get your hands on. I am not getting anything for saying this, but I use adobe Creative suite for many projects. It’s totally worth the money you spend on it.

November 18, 2011: I got my beta key for Diablo III. So far I love it. I cannot wait for the release of the game now. I also cannot wait for more content to be unlocked for us to test.

The story thus far: You start off at your house, I guess. You run to the town where you find a bunch of soldiers trying to hold the gate. They ask for your help. As you accept the quest you are pushed into a battle. After a few kills they stop spawning and the quest is completed. Then the storeline continues. I will not ruin it for you to much.

You get a choice of a Wizard, Barbarian, Monk, Witch Doctor, or a Demon Hunter.

I have only played the Demon Hunter and currently testing out the Wizard. I will be trying out each of the classes just to see which I would love to try out when the real game is released. As of right now I think the Demon Hunter is really broken but I am sure it will become harder once the game progresses. So as of right now I will be playing a DH when the game comes out.

The UI is really nice and I like that you have a limited amount of choices with powers/skills to use while you are in the dungeon. Also, the way you unlock the slots to hold the powers is a nice touch as well. Potions have a cooldown to use and that is a nice touch since they do not want this to be a potion game. in other words, you go after a large boss at a lower level and you just use potions till you kill the boss when you shouldnt’ have faced himin the first place.

The Blacksmith;
The way they have the blacksmith upgrade so that you can get better gear from the BS is a clever idea. That way you can get your gear as you level. Also, you can not get high level gear. In the beta I only received enough to level my blacksmith up once but the difference in the gear that I recieved from the gear was amazing. I even created something for my other classes that helpped out tremendously.

The over all buck;
This is an awesome game I CANNOT wait for it to be released because I will be getting the collectiors edition… It’s already on researved ;-) So thank you for reading and I hope this small review helpped you to decide if you want the game or not.

Fable 3

I am going to start off by saying I am not a Fable fan. However, one day a friend of mine (Ashley) came over and she wanted to download some content for the game. I said sure, it’s all good. Well, I watched her play Fable 3 a little and I tried it out. I went out and bought it 2 days later when I got paid.

Storyline:

The story is interesting to say the least. You are a prince/princess and your brother is the king. He is a tyrant and you are be-quested to overthrow him. The thing is you do and you can do the classic Fable thing and be good or evil with your actions. Near the end of your quest to overthrow your brother you find out why he has been such a douche bag. There is a great evil on the way and you find this out one year before it comes to you. The catch is you have to save up to 6.5 million gold in your treasury to save 6.5 million people. With-in this year you have to make judgments and then you have to decided to keep your promises or go back on them to save the money. Once the great evil comes you end up fighting your mentor Sir. Walter.

Likes:

  • Evil/Good: I really like how your decisions effect the game. If you want to be evil you are evil and everyone talks about you as a evil tyrant like your brother. If you are good then everyone praises you.
  • Money Making: Making money is really easy if you do it right. Start off doing the jobs with either the lute, bread, blacksmith. Once you have enough money to buy a house do so. Buy and rent out. Make sure you keep up the repairs or you will have a house that pays you nothing. Until you own all houses in an area, do the professions.
  • Relationships: I am not sure about the other Fables but I know in Fable 3 you can work on a relationship with either a male or female character and you can fall in love with them. You can even have children with your partner by adopting or having sex.
  • Side Quests: The side quests are kinda boring but I can see why you will need them. One of my favorite side quest is the garden gnomes. These fowl mouth creatures trick this NPC into freeing them. They go all around the kingdom hiding spreading their depressing messages. When you hear them you really want to kill them to return them back to the

Dislikes

I really cannot think of anything that I did not like about this game. I will think on it and let you know soon.
